A note from our CEO in response to COVID-19

The world of cannabis is expanding and changing rapidly. If you like to stay informed, keeping up can feel like a challenge. Here, we’ll take a closer look at some of the latest 420 news and trends.

More States Are Looking to Legalize

During the 2020 presidential election, five states passed measures to legalize cannabis. This year, several more states are considering similar moves to legalize cannabis within their borders. So far, nine states are considering adult-use legalization, while five states are considering medical. Indiana and South Carolina are looking into making a run at both adult-use and medical use legalization.

Whether or not legalization in more states happens remains to be seen. One thing is for certain, though. There’s growing support from people across the country for it to happen.

Could Federal Legalization Happen?

The recent changes in the federal government have many people wondering if federal legalization could finally happen. With a Democrat-controlled House and Senate, as well as a Democrat in the White House, it seems likely something will occur.

The MORE Act has already passed the House, but its fate in the Senate remains to be seen. What we do know is that Democratic leaders plan to prioritize reform. We’re also still waiting to see what happens with the SAFE Banking Act, a law that would protect financial institutions if they choose to provide services to cannabis businesses.

There are still challenges, though. For one, the Senate is split right down the middle. For another, while President Biden is a Democrat, he seems to support federal decriminalization over legalization.

The Rise of Cannabis Delivery

With the events of 2020, there was a significant rise in online shopping and delivery. While many businesses that closed their doors temporarily have since reopened, shopping habits have changed.

With these changes, there has been a significant rise in cannabis delivery. Many dispensaries have partnered with delivery services so that you can get your favorite buds without having to leave the safety and comfort of your home. There has also been a rise in businesses that specialize in cannabis delivery.

420 News Subscription Services

Another trend that has grown in popularity during the pandemic is the subscription service. People now have meals, clothes, activities, and more delivered to their door regularly, reducing the need to go out into crowded stores. You can even find cannabis subscription boxes. These boxes come with an assortment of products for your smoking enjoyment.

How 2020 Affected Sharing a Joint

Let’s be honest here. One of the draws of smoking a joint is that it can be a very communal act. It enabled you to enjoy an experience with close friends. Before 2020, it also provided a way to make new friends.

Today, however, things are different. Social distancing has changed the culture of taking a puff and passing it around. For now, sharing is a thing of the past. If you still want to partake with friends, you should either have enough for everyone to make their own joint or keep pre rolls on hand from Harvest Bloom and be everybody’s best friend.

The cannabis industry is ever-evolving. If you like to stay on top of the latest 420 news, keep an eye out. Whether it’s a new state legalizing use or the federal government moving forward with nationwide legalization, there’s always something new to learn.
